Opening Week Schedule

Friday, August 16

Move-In Day (8:30am)

The residence halls will open for students to move in beginning at 8:30am. Go to the gymnasium to receive your residence hall room assignment.

Job Fair - On-Campus Jobs (2:00pm - 3:00pm)

Students can visit the Fellowship Center, located on the first floor of the Administration Building, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm to inquire about on-campus job opportunities.

Presidential Reception (4:00pm)

At 4:00pm, Pastor Jason Gaddis will meet with all of the new students and their families during the Presidential Reception in the Sam Davison Biblical Preaching Center.

Saturday, August 17

Incredible Pizza Activity (2:45pm - 6:00 pm)

The first student activity of the semester is at Incredible Pizza from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Buses will leave campus at 2:45pm and will arrive back to campus about 6:00pm. You can sign up on Friday morning, August 16, in the gymnasium, or later in the day in the Dean of Students’ Office. The cost for this activity is $5 per person for students and their families.

Sunday, August 18

Welcome Heartland Sunday (starting at 9:45am)

Sunday School meets at 9:45am in the Heartland Singles classroom (located on the second floor at Southwest Baptist Church). All new students and parents are welcome!

Transportation will be provided for students who need a ride to the morning or evening service. A bus will be parked beside the Gymnasium and will leave campus 45 minutes before the service begins

The morning service will begin in the main auditorium at 10:45am with Pastor Jason Gaddis preaching from God’s Word. After the morning service, all new students and their immediate families are invited to lunch in the gym at the church. Information about church membership will be presented following the meal.

The evening service starts at 6:00pm. Following the evening service, dinner will be provided for new students and their families in the gym at the church along with an explanation of how to get involved in church ministries.

Monday, August 19

Registration Day

Registration begins at 8:30 am on-campus in the Mike Thomas Memorial Gymnasium. Students should arrive to register at the time indicated below based on the first letter of their last name.

A-B: 8:30

C: 8:50

D-F: 9:10

G-H: 9:30

I-K: 9:50

L: 10:10

M: 10:30

N-R: 10:50

S: 11:10

T-V: 11:30

W-Z: 11:50

Job Fair - Off-Campus Jobs (12:00pm - 3:00pm)

There will be a job fair located in the Fellowship Center, on the first floor of the Administration Building, from 12:00pm - 3:00pm to allow students to apply for job opportunities with local businesses.

Kickball & Pizza (5:00pm - 8:00 pm)

There will be an on-campus activity from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on the softball field. Dinner will also be served during this activity.

Opening Days Preaching

This day of preaching in the Biblical Preaching Center is a great time to get “charged up” before the busyness of the semester begins. The preachers are:
